Saint Denis Cemetery is a now-defunct cemetery that was located off Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park. It was in use from 1856 through the 1890s. It was associated with Saint Denis Church, the first church in San Mateo county, and it contained at least 174 graves. The church was abandoned by the mid-1870s and was razed in 1899; the graveyard was similarly forgotten. In 1953, with the impending construction of the SLAC facility, Stanford University and the Church of the Nativity exhumed remains from 24 of the Saint Denis graves and transferred them to nearby Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. The remaining interments are unmarked. A bronze marker commemorating the church and cemetery can be seen near 3000 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park.
